I am a twenty-something year old 3rd grade teacher who is continuously learning by doing, the same way I strive to teach my students. I never knew how life-consuming this wonderful, fulfilling, rewarding profession was until I began my teaching journey in September 2016.
I teach language arts, word study, writing, math, social studies, and science with lots of remediation, spiral review, and technology thrown in. I am an advocate for small group teaching and incorporate such strategy through guided reading, differentiated word study, guided math, and rotations galore! I keep my students moving throughout the day in an effort to keep their precious minds pumping and open to new learning.
I graduated from James Madison University as an Honors graduate with two published theses regarding both family involvement and differentiated mathematics in education.
I am a proud JMU alum with a bachelors degree in Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies and masters degree in Elementary Education. GO DUKES!
I have meshed my two passions, education and design, to create my own brand of work which my fellow teachers can incorporate into their classrooms. Here you will find SOL-aligned resources that I have found enrich my students' educational experiences. I hope you and your sweet students enjoy these learning tools for years to come!
