TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Brittany Zucker is a Language, Literacy and Dyslexia Interventionist based in New York City who specializes in treating children with reading and spelling weaknesses, receptive and expressive language disorders and language-based learning disabilities, including dyslexia. Brittany works with children who benefit from reading, spelling, phonological awareness, vocabulary, writing and comprehension support. She uses evidence-based language intervention strategies and provides structured multisensory reading instruction using an Orton-Gillingham approach. Brittany is a licensed Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) and holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). She is certified in Orton Gillingham at the Associate Level through the Orton-Gillingham Academy (OGA) and is a certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist through the International Dyslexia Association (IDA).

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love making my language therapy and literacy intervention sessions fun and interactive! My students know they will always spend time learning, but that I will find a way to incorporate some type of game to make it more interesting for them - whether that be using a dice or making an activity interactive on the smartboard. My packets are great great ways for students to organize their learning so that they can use it for the duration of the unit to refer to.
