TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I entered the teaching field after a 20 year career in technology. In addition to running a web design business for over 15 years, I also worked for organizations like the U.S. Department of Labor, MCI, Mobil Oil Corporation, and a Methodist church. I decided to become a teacher to serve my community. I soon discovered that my diverse design/technology background was very helpful to other teachers in developing curriculum and applying technology in new ways. I have such great respect for teachers and all that you accomplish every single day. So I made it my mission to create engaging content that supports teachers and student learning.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is to inspire students to love learning. Whether it is an engaging online game or video clips, brain breaks... I will use whatever means necessary to make sure those brains are online and positive toward learning.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Graduated Summa Cum Laude.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Bachelors of Arts in Fine Art with a minor in Early Childhood Education from Humboldt State University in Arcata, California.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am a proud single mother of three amazing kids who are growing up too fast. Being in education has allowed me to see inside the world of my children, giving me a perspective that I would have otherwise missed. I am fiercely persistent, hopelessly optimistic and happily dependent on God to see me through the challenges of life. I raise monarch butterflies on my back porch, averaging about 20 new butterflies per month. Also, I am an artist who likes to create acrylic paintings, watercolors and drawings which you can see at www.butterflypam.com. I like dark chocolate, red wine, camping, sailing and traveling, especially to National Parks! ★
