I have been a Dual Language elementary teacher for nine years. Although I loved my experience with early elementary, my passion lies with 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. I've had the opportunity to teach all content areas in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades, but I have fallen in love with teaching math. My whole teaching career has been spent in Central Texas, where the dual language program varies, but I found the highest need for math resources in Spanish that mirror the rigor and vocabulary of state standards.
I love incorporating centers and activities where the students can work on fluency by playing games, or work on foldables and interactive notebook activities to practice skills and build vocabulary. I have found that by including a variety of methods and activities for students to practice and apply their concepts, it keeps them more engaged and motivated. Win/Win!

I attended the University of Texas at Austin where I graduated with a degree in Applied Learning in Development with a specialty in bilingual education.
After struggling for years to find quality Spanish resources aligned to the rigor of the curriculum for testing grades, I decided it was time to start creating my own resources. As bilingual educators, we spend countless hours translating materials, and I want to make standards-aligned material more accessible to teachers of Spanish-speaking students. Ironically, I also found that once I made resources in Spanish, it was easier to translate them back into English.
