My first job out of college was working in a Medical Entomology Research Laboratory where I ran my own independent project to monitor the infection rate of Chagas' Disease in Kissing Bugs in the Southern California Area. After discovering my passion for education, I have been teaching various science classes at the 9-12 level and at the community college level. I have been in academia since 2011.

As I like to tease my students, "Bio is life!" and I've made it my life's passion. I graduated cum laude from the University of California, Riverside with a Bachelors of Science in Entomology and Biological Sciences. I also hold a Masters of Science in Biology from Point Loma Nazarene University.
