Calling my teaching experiences "unpredictable" would be an understatement! I started student teaching in 6th grade, eventually subbing in all grades K-8. From there, I taught 1st, followed by kindergarten, only to move all the way up to middle school (7th & 8th) the following year! After staying with the "big kids" for three years, I moved once again to a 4/5 combo and after three years in that spot, taught 4th grade for 2 years. After team teaching in a 5/6 position for the 2019-20 school year, I'm now working from home and homeschooling my oldest two.
My goal is to create a relentlessly positive classroom environment based on Thomas Edison's belief that "If we did all the things we are capable of, we would literally astound ourselves." I am proud to say that my students astound me on a daily basis with their enthusiasm and perseverance. I strive to nurture creative and motivated students through higher-level thinking activities and projects. Shout-out to Rick Morris (www.newmanagement.com) for helping me create a student-driven, engaging, and productive classroom!

I love creating memories with my family, especially by traveling together. We frequently explore new and already-loved cities with day-trips and longer stays. I enjoy playing and watching sports (Go Hawks!), pilates, cooking, dancing, reading, and listening to music.
