I have taught 3rd grade, 5th grade, and 6th grade...all with an emphasis in language arts curriculum. I started my teaching career in 1992. I have trained teachers in many different areas including Smartboard, differentiated instruction, explicit vocabulary 6 Trait Writing, and 6th grade ELA core instruction.
I believe in very hands-on, differentiated instruction in my classroom. I strive to teach to the different learning styles of my students. I have attended numerous workshops over the years with focus on language arts, technology, and differentiated instruction. I attended the national differentiated instruction conference in Las Vegas in 2009.
I was honored to be chosen to help re-write the 6th grade ELA instructional sequences for the district in which I teach.
I have a bachelor's degree in elementary education with an early childhood endorsement. I am also highly qualified in the area of language arts in the state of Kansas. I received a Master's degree in building leadership in 2010.
I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, cooking, and boxing (only on the bags though...not with people!). My latest addiction is buying and selling clothes (which I also love) on Ebay.
