TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Special education teacher for 22 years. I have taught 2-8th grade but am currently working with 4-6th grade students. I have taught in self-contained, resource, and inclusion classrooms. Currently I am working with my district's curriculum team.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style incorporates structure within problem solving. As a special education teacher, I use a lot of scaffolding, structure, and problem solving in my lessons. I tend to teach new material in a variety of ways and demonstrate how information connects. I am also a firm believer in tapping into and building upon individual student's background knowledge and interests when designing lessons and units.
