I am a Texas A&M alum... WHOOP! I earned my Bachelor's + Master's degree here in education, curriculum, & instruction. I have taught for 5 years in 3rd and 4th grade classrooms with many diverse learners- speaking over 10 different languages! I am very familiar with ESL practices and meeting the needs of learners. In addition to my current teaching, I have worked with many different aged students from Pre-K to 5th grade. I taught pre-school for 2 years while I was in college. I completed my student teaching in a 3rd grade math/science classroom and truly have a love and passion for education.
I believe that a successful classroom in rooted and love and respect. Through this I encourage my students to respect themselves as well as those around them. Student choice is also something very important to me and I love allowing students the opportunity to drive their own learning.
In my 4th year teaching, I was honored to receive the Campus Teacher of the Year award! While student teaching, I was awarded the "Always Expect More Of Aggie Teachers" Award. A description of the award is located at http://tlac.tamu.edu/always-expect-more-aggie-teachers. I feel so blessed so have received such an honor.
