Deena Miller holds a Master's Degree in Elementary Education and has studied the English Language for more than 7 years. She has created professional development credit classes for continuing education credits for re-certification. She has taught k-8 students. Some of her favorites are the SCHWA, DDCF, CLOVER, LATIN AND GREEK ROOTS.
Deena's teaching style follows the Orton-Gillingham model of learning. Kids learn through using all their senses and need visuals for better understanding. In teaching, one needs to by systematic, explicit, and use lots of examples.
Deena has received certificates for participating in the LETERS modules 1-12. -Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling by Louisa Moats. She has taken training through LIPS for speech and language development. She has created more than 10 classes that she offers to teachers for renewal units or continuing education credits.

Deena has attended the 12 modules (4 times 3 days each time) for the LETRS program written by Louisa Moats in Boulder, Colorado. Deena has attended 3 different Dyslexia Conferences.
Deena has studied the English Language for many years and has created English Linguistics materials for teachers of all ages. Her materials cover the 5 components from the 2000 National Reading Panel (Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Fluency, Vocabulary and Comprehension). Other concepts include DDCF (suffix spelling rules), Spelling Rules using sentences, CLOVER syllables, sentence diagramming (parts of speech), Latin and Greek roots, and Basic Language Essentials for teachers.
