TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been creating black history lessons and conducting black history presentations for students in grades k-8 for more than 15 years.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My classroom presentations are interactive and involve a lot of audience participation. The lessons that I create are meant to make it easy for teachers to include Black History everyday. Some lessons include activities and worksheets. Others do not. Those are meant to supplement lesson plans on a specific topic. The type of lesson will be indicated in the description.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

In 1997, I received a federal grant to document the history of African Americans in Paterson, New Jersey.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Long Island University.
