I have had the privilege of teaching for over 10 years in three diverse countries: Brazil, USA, and Canada. My teaching journey has been enriched by the opportunity to work in various settings, including university-level institutions, international schools, bilingual schools, and public schools. These experiences have given me a global perspective on education and a deep understanding of diverse cultures and educational systems. I have honed my skills in designing engaging lessons, fostering critical thinking, and promoting inclusive learning environments. My passion for teaching and my commitment to academic excellence have been the driving forces behind my success as an educator in different countries and educational settings.

As an experienced educator who has taught in diverse international settings, I have developed a student-centered teaching style that prioritizes the needs of English Language (EL) learners. I recognize the importance of language development and effective communication skills for EL learners, and I incorporate relevant methodologies into my teaching to support their learning journey. I emphasize the development of vocabulary through explicit instruction and meaningful context, using strategies such as word walls, visual aids, and interactive activities to reinforce word recognition and usage. I also prioritize effective reading skills, using strategies such as pre-reading activities, graphic organizers, and comprehension checks to scaffold reading comprehension for EL learners. Additionally, I use comprehensible input, which involves using language that is tailored to the learners' level of proficiency, to ensure that the content is accessible and engaging. Through these methodologies, I strive to create an inclusive learning environment that fosters language development and empowers EL learners to succeed in their academic endeavors.

Throughout my teaching career, I have been honored with several awards and recognitions for my contributions to education. One notable achievement was being awarded the prestigious Emerging Leaders in the Americas (ELAP) scholarship, which recognized my dedication to teaching and leadership potential. This scholarship provided me with valuable opportunities for professional development and cross-cultural experiences, enhancing my skills as an educator. Additionally, I have been recognized for my outstanding work at the institutions I have worked at, including universities and schools. My commitment to creating engaging and inclusive learning environments, my innovative teaching methodologies, and my passion for empowering students, have been acknowledged by my colleagues and administrators. These honors and awards have motivated me to continue my pursuit of excellence in education and have reinforced my dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of my students.

My educational journey has been shaped by a strong passion for literature, linguistics, bilingualism, and instructional technology. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Literature in Linguistics from the renowned Universidade de Sao Paulo, where I developed a deep understanding of language structures and literary analysis. Building on my interest in language education, I pursued a specialization in Bilingualism and Second Language Teaching from the esteemed University of Ottawa, where I honed my skills in designing and implementing effective language instruction for diverse learners. To further enhance my expertise in instructional technology, I am currently taking a Master of Science in Education (M.S.Ed) from Northern Illinois University, where I focus at gaining in-depth knowledge of integrating technology in educational settings to enhance teaching and learning experiences. My diverse educational background has equipped me with a strong foundation in language education and instructional technology, empowering me to create engaging and innovative learning experiences for my students.
