TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've been teaching for over 20 years in conservatories, private studios and schools. I studied drama and dance in New York City and performed as a professional dancer/actress for many years before transitioning to a full time teacher, choreographer and director.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a hands on teacher who regularly demonstrates the activities in each of the Drama, Dance or PE classes that I teach. In my class students are encouraged to think outside the box, take risks and support each other. I think it's important to create an atmosphere where students can feel safe to push themselves out of their comfort zones and discover aspects of themselves they didn't know existed.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Presented at the North Carolina Catholic Schools Conference on "How To Make a Drama Program Work for Your School" & "How to Start a Performing and Visual Arts Showcase in your School System" / Founding Director for the Diocese of Raleigh Catholic Schools Performing and Visual Arts Showcase called "Catholic Schools Live" which featured over 1800 students and 50 teachers from 20 schools.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

The American Academy of Dramatic Arts: AA in Drama Performance / Charter Oak State College: BA in Theater Arts / North Carolina School of the Arts: Summer Dance Intensive / Powerhouse Theater Alumni with NY Stage and Film at Vassar
