Teaching lesson that include socio-emotional development and/or social justice concepts and allowing students to share out to create a classroom community. Classrooms need to go beyond teaching for the test so I find it imperative to be vulnerable and provide a safe-space platform that students can share their experiences/feelings not typically discussed. We are also building the future generation so having social justice concepts connects them to their community and world surrounding them. It makes lessons more meaningful and creates empathy towards peers and their community.
