TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have 11 years of experience teaching in schools including public, adult and international IB schools. I have worked as the Literacy Coordinator, Testing Teacher, Librarian and ELLS coordinator. I have written curriculum, designed school-wide programs, presented Professional Development, Implemented Literacy Strategies and work with government organisations to arrange English courses for refugees. I teach English, EAL, Drama, Literacy and Media Studies.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Hybrid Style: Creative, Organised, Accountable A lot of my work is based on a gradual release of responsibility or 'scaffolded' learning, where a teacher will provide examples of the skills, work in groups or pairs and then work individually. I like engaging students with creative ideas, honing in on specific skills, and differentiating in terms of work expectations and outcomes.
