TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have worked in education for seven years as a middle school English classroom teacher, literacy interventionist, and English second language teacher. I have taught in traditional classrooms, small-group settings, and via online platforms.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Few careers allow a person to touch the lives of others to the degree that can be realized in education. Reaching the minds and hearts of students through literature is a true gift, especially when students find their own voices in written expression. In connecting students with new knowledge, I allow them to access stories of culture, history, and the human experience. The ability to see students think critically of the world around them and develop their own individual perspectives is where I find the true beauty of the privilege of working in education.
