By At the Core I was a first grade teacher for 8 years before moving up to third grade. After four years of third grade, I am now the 2nd/3rd grade split teacher for the year. It's challenging, but it gives me some great experience with a grade I haven't taught before.
Organization, hard work, respect, kindness, and humor are key in how I run my classroom. I attempt to make learning entertaining for both myself and my students.

I graduated with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education then went on to earn an ESL endorsement and a Master's in Mathematics Education K-6
I helped my district create a new math textbook for first grade. It involved creating and writing lesson and activity plans to align with the previous core standards for math. They still use the bits that work with our new common core.
