Alden Phelps is a long time Teaching Artist with Arts for Learning Maryland, and is a Wolf Trap Early Learning Teaching Artist. He performs concerts and residencies at elementary schools throughout Maryland and beyond. He has taught hundreds of teachers how to use music, singing and songwriting in their PK-5th classrooms.
As a traveling teaching artist, Alden usually conducts multi-day residencies at schools. Alden's enthusiasm and playfulness are infectious and helps draw in all kinds of learners.

Alden has a BFA from the Maryland Institute of Art in Baltimore, and as a teaching artist has received training at Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning in Virginia and the Teaching Artists Institute in Baltimore.
Alden is an artist, songwriter, and musician with over 20 years years of experience performing for audiences of all kinds across the region. Alden’s zany songs, zippy guitar-ifications, and sing-along choruses delight folks of all ages, and his arts-integrated interactive workshops inspire a love of language and the joy of playing with words. All of Alden's material undergoes strict quality control testing with his preschool granddaughter.
