I teach K-12 art in a small rural school district in NW Ohio. I've been teaching art for 31 years. Prior to teaching I worked as an Art Director for a magazine publication and have worked on and off in Interior Design. My areas of focus are painting, drawing, ceramics, weaving, printmaking, furniture design, miniatures, graphic design, and hotography.
I am a strong believer in scaffolding a lesson so students may work progressively gaining the skills and confidence to create a piece of art work.
I am the recipient of 18 Einstein Awards from the Dekko Foundation and a Toyota International Teacher, 2001.
Bachelors in Education with an Area Major in Arts and Crafts k-12, Indiana University, 1979. Other universities I've attended along the way include: The University of Toledo, Bowling Green State University, IUSB, IPFW, IUPUI, Indiana Wesleyan, the University of Dayton, The University of the Pacific, and Morningside College
I am married to a wonderfully patient person who is a photographer and graphic designer. I have 2 adult children and 1 daughter in-law and am blessed with 3 fab wiener dogs!
