I have had the privilege of teaching art for 15 years! My expertise is high school art, but I also have experience teaching elementary and middle school art. I have taught drawing, design, digital photography, and ceramics for many years. I have so many amazing lessons that have been tried, tested, and perfected to share! I am also a practicing artist and have done many commissions for people. I enjoy working in charcoal, pastels, oil paint, and Photoshop.
I really strive to make time to do my own artwork in the classroom. It's important for students to see that I actually practice what I teach. It makes the student's experience more authentic. Student-led learning is the basis for my teaching style. I am simply a guide. I teach the techniques and skills students need to master the project, but how they use this is something they problem solve themselves. I have high expectations for each student and do not let any student call a project finished until it is their very best effort.
