TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught 19 years. I am currently substitute teaching K-8 Physical Education/Computer. I have 17 years experience teaching Physical Education and 7 years teaching Computer.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I think my style is a "kinesthetic learner/teacher". I also have high expectations for my students because I want them not only to succeed in my Physical Education & Computer classes, but in all other areas of the curriculum. Every student should see positive results of anything they do or create. When I see a student who is struggling, I will ALWAYS help and encourage them. When they see themselves succeeding and get excited about doing a great job on a specific project, that tells me that I know I am a great teacher. I know what I am doing in the classroom and that also makes me proud to be a teacher!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have 19 years teaching Physical Education, and 7 years teaching Computer. I want students to know that Physical Education and Computer Technology go together. I incorporate my enthusiasm of sports into Computer Technology daily. The projects that I have the students create, have alot to do with athletics and by incorporating this with technology, students get excited about creating Word, Excel or PPT. The students can also see that when I present new projects to them, they become really enthusiastic and create great masterpieces. They learn new ways to use exercise with technology! I also have an online portfolio: http://www.portfoliogen.com/Arlene/
