Angie Neal began her career as an SLP in an outpatient clinic setting/children's hospital. She has been a public school SLP in an elementary setting for 15 years and now works at the state level supporting SLPs in schools. Angie is a frequent presenter on podcasts as well as online platforms such as speechtherapypd.com and speechpathology.com as well as at state and district level conferences, district level conferences. She has presented at ASHA three times. Her favorite topics to present on are remediation of /r/, language and literacy, social communication, linguistic and cultural diversity, and the impact of screen time on development.
Angie Neal loves speech pathology! She loves to teach it, talk about it and create things to improve communication skills! Her teaching style is pure fun!
Angie Neal holds the certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA and was part of the inaugural ASHA Leadership Development Program for school-based SLPs. Angie has been a board member with her state's International Dyslexia Association and is a current board member with the State Education Agencies Communication Disabilities Council and the ASHA School Issues Advisory Board. Angie has received the Nancy McKinley award from Ohio and the Rolland Van Hattum Award from South Carolina.
Angie Neal obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Pathology from Columbia College and a Master of Science is Speech Pathology from San Francisco State University.
Angie has published two books, "The Pirate Who Couldn't Say Arrr!" (Tate Publications) and "Simply Social at School" (Super Duper). She was also an adjunct professor for the University of South Carolina teaching language and literacy course work.
