I have been a teacher in North Carolina in title 1 schools since 2020. Prior to this I worked as a paraprofessional in Florida, worked in the writing center a New College of Florida, and taught technology and STEM courses at a K-12 school. I taught 4th grade for 2 years and 3rd grade for 2 years.
My teaching style is heavy on creating a fun, inclusive, and engaging lessons for my students! I employ technology and student lead learning in my own classroom. At my school, the needs of my students are varied, so individualized learning and small groups are super important to me :)

I studied Classical Languages and Computer Science in my original bachelors degree. I don't have a traditional path to education (I entered teaching through Lateral Entry). I have since taken education classes to enhance my teaching and am working on my national boards at the moment. I have studied the science of reading (though LETRS). I also have a certification in NC's "Rethink Education" training which focuses on utilizing individualized learning through hybrid teacher.
