TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This is the twenty-first year I have taught at two separate rural school districts. For the last eight years I have loved every minute of teaching 3rd grade and team teaching with the 4th grade teacher. I have also taught 5th through 8th language arts and reading and also 2nd grade.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Education is about teaching to many different learners in multiple ways. I learn some new tricks every year and continue changing. I do model a lot for my students, but I also try to my best to let my kids learn through experience.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have had the honor of being Wal-Mart's Teacher of the Year for two years.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

With the encouragement of my husband and parents, I graduated from SIU-C with honors. I have also added endorsements to my certificate in reading and mathematics through class with University of Phoenix.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

My husband and I have been married for 25 years and have two children (ages 17 and 11).
