TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught all my life. I have taught in Germany for 3 years before coming to the USA. I taught for 5 years in the university level, 2 years in middle school, and 24 years in Elementary.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I teach mainly in cooperative groups or in peer centered teaching. My students also learn in stations and small group settings. Independent practice and stations work wonders for my students. Whole group is reinforced in small group and practiced with a friend or independently in stations.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I was born and raised in Germany and became an early elementary teacher, PreK-5 With a masters in special Ed. When I went to the USA I taught college level and decided I loved the little people. After that I earned my American Masters in general Ed, got National Board Certified. I got my license as a Literacy Coach. Next I got a license in Gifted Education and Literacy K-12. I got a science endorsement for K-9 and Math coach for K12. Additionally, I seem to get a lot of English as a second language students so I got certified for ESL.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Wife of a soldier, now retired and turned counselor. Painter, runner, hiker, swimmer, beach fan, Boom Card creator and TPT teacher. I love to create especially if it has meaning.
