MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe that students are responsible for their own learning, but I support them as much as I can. I try to promote critical thinkers who can articulate their thoughts and are willing to look beyond themselves for the answers to Life, the Universe, and Everything.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

"That's amazing, do you do that for everyone who doesn't know what to do?" (Student 2014) “She caused me to look at the world differently and to ask questions of it," (Student 2012). “Her level of motivating students to excel shines as one of her most salient features,” (Former Department Head). "Her infectious love of learning and her desire to help every student succeed make her a well- respected instructor among her peers and a favorite among her students,” (Colleague). "I am impressed with her level of professionalism and care in dealing with students, parents, teachers, and administrators. She has enviable classroom management skills and knows how to relate her lessons to her students. I have personally talked with some of her students and all say that they really learned how to write effectively and think critically about the world around them in her English classes," (Colleague). "I have thought more than once that I would have loved to have had her as my high school English teacher. Several times when I leave the building at the end of the day I have seen her working hard at her desk or talking with students who have come to her on their own time after school. She is well-liked by both teachers and students," (Colleague).
