I have been teaching fourteen years. I have taught special education K-5, first grade, and fourth grade. I have also taught extra courses to gifted learners in the areas of creative writing, drama, and Spanish.
I believe in hands-on learning and direct instruction. I believe in incorporating technology, science, and social studies into as much of the curriculum as possible.
I was nominated by my colleagues for my district's Golden Apple teaching award.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting. I hold a California Clear Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential with a CLAD certificate that qualifies me to teach English Language Learners. I have a dual Master's degree in Educational Administration and Curriculum/Instruction. I hold a California Administrative Certificate.
My hobbies include creative writing, photography, hiking, and amateur radio. I also have a blog on which I review both fiction and nonfiction books for adults and children.
