TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I spent over a decade in the classroom, teaching grades 3-5, as well as kindergarten. I loved it all! I am now a full-time coffee drinker and creator of teaching supplements with a focus on engaging students with rigorous resources while saving teachers' precious prep time.

MY TEACHING STYLE

School should be fun, engaging, and appropriately challenging for each student. We spend a lot of time in books! I love reading to students of all ages! Even "big" kids need to hear great picture books, and younger students can enjoy listening to chapter books that they can't quite access themselves. Books are truly gifts we can open again and again! I just love stories, and I've worked to instill that same love in my students.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Hmmm... shining teacher moment? Every time I've said goodbye for winter/spring break, and a student said, "Aww.. I don't want to have a break! I love school!"

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from Western Washington University in 2002 with a BA in Elementary Education. In 2007 I went back to school and earned a Masters in Reading and Literacy. I am also a Reading Specialist.
