I have taught high school Science, Biology and Chemistry, as well as Math. I have also taught in a Special Education classroom, working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and Developmental Disabilities. In this role differentiated instruction is the key to their learning.
I believe that differentiated instructions will benefit different type of learners. And that students need to experience success, no matter how minute, during their learning. I love incorporating technologies into my lesson delivery - whether through using smartboard, powerpoint, prezi, flash animations, virtual labs, interactive tutorials, etc.
During my first year of teaching, covering someone on mat leave, I had such a great class. There was good rapport among the students and great learning was taking place. The kids circulated a petition around the school to keep me as a permanent teacher. I was very touched. And it worked! I was hired permanently the next year.
