TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching students with special needs for the past 19 years. The students I work with range in abilities from those with learning disabilities, cognitive disabilities, autism, behavior disorders, and speech and hearing delays. I am currently teaching a self contained autism classroom. I have taught all subject areas and take the general education curriculum and modify it to my students needs. I also have experience using Ohio's Learned Standards-Extended and the Learning Progressions with my students.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like to call my classrom controlled chaos. I want my students engaged in hands-on activities to keep them motivated. I often use humor and personal experiences of mine and my students to engage them in real world learning.
