My son was diagnosed with ADHD, ODD, SPD, Anxiety and depression in 2016. Through that time I was able to gain a lot of knowledge, resources and tools that helped me understand ADHD as a result I learned how to help my son cope with everyday life and all the challenges. Had I known then what I know now the last 4 years would have been so much easier. On a positive note the journey was worth it. Today I am the parent that he needed me to be in order for me to help him, he is happy and he is healthy. Somedays are great, somedays are tough, but one day I know all this hard work will serve it's purpose. ADHD IS REAL!
I believe that kids thrive best by learning at their own level of pace and capacity. The world is full of lessons and education. Absolutely anything can be turned into a learning experience. The uniform way of learning is not suitable for every single kid.
I have been an advocate for my son for 6 years. Through this time I was able to make changes and accommodations through his school that were necessary for his growth. But not only did these changes benefit him they also helped other kids that needed that support. My voice is loud and I will continue to strive for theses changes that every kid on the spectrum needs. I believe that utilizing our voice for our kids teaches our kids to speak up and ask for what they need to be successful.
I graduated from High school in 2004. Went on to do some college courses but soon realized college wasn’t for me. So I started working in day cares and para educator for a private school, until my own kids needed me at which point I began to focus on their school careers and now for the past 2 years I am a home school teacher/mama teaching 6th and kindergarten level. Learning new things as I tackle this journey with my littles who are both ADHD.
Dear parents of ADHD little humans, I hope this message finds you well. My name is Beatriz Angel Montano my friends call me Angel. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to introduce myself to you. As an advocate, mama, and children's book author, I am passionate about supporting children with ADHD and their families. Through my personal and professional experiences, I have gained valuable insights into the unique needs of these children and the challenges they face on a daily basis. This has inspired me to write a series of children's books specifically designed to resonate with and empower young readers with ADHD. My books aim to foster understanding, acceptance, and confidence in children with ADHD. By featuring relatable characters and engaging storylines, I strive to provide a platform for these children to see themselves reflected positively in literature. Through colorful illustrations and thoughtful narratives, my books aim to educate and inspire, offering a sense of belonging and encouragement to young readers and their families. I believe that these stories have the potential to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children with ADHD and those who care for them. In closing, I would like to share a motivational message with you: "Believe in the power of your voice and the impact of your actions. As advocates, parents, and creators, we have the ability to shape a brighter future for children with ADHD. Let's continue to embrace empathy, understanding, and inclusion, and together, we can make a positive difference in the lives of these remarkable young individuals." Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and my work. I look forward to the possibility of collaborating and making a difference together.
