I worked several years doing in-home ABA therapy, first as a line therapist and then as a senior therapist. While in graduate school, I worked as a paraprofessional at an inner-city Autism Therapeutic Day School where I had the experience of working with students from all different grade levels, age 6 to 21. After graduating, I took a job there and opened a K-3 classroom. Since then, I have worked for a public school district and a special education co-op district, all as a K-3 autism-based classroom teacher. It was always important to me that I exposed myself to all the different settings of special education, to best understand what services are provided in each of the settings to meet the wide range of needs for our students. All these experiences have lead me to this passion on creating materials!
I believe all students, regardless of their disability, should have access to the curriculum and materials their general education peers are exposed to. It is possible but it just takes a lot of time in our already busy schedules as teachers to create the materials to meet the individual needs of our students. That is my goal of this account is to help relieve some of your never ending demand of material making!
