TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have worked with students and individuals with autism for nine years. Deciding I wanted a challenge, I left the school I was at to try something new. Now I have worked in an alternative school for ED< BD< and LD learners for the last three years and I love it!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a very hands on teacher. In my classroom we do lots of cut and paste activities. I have had a lot of students/ individuals who have poor fine motor skills so a lot of my work is adapted to their needs. I like to take the community and bring it into the classroom as much as possible. I feel that it reduces the amount of anxiety for students and teachers to have a lesson to teach in the classroom that matches a lesson outside of it.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am a mother of thee adorable little boys ages 7, 5, and 1. Needless to say I am one busy lady when it comes to work and home life. Between sports, scouts, and lesson plans I barely have a night to be bored and I wouldn't have it any other way.
