TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have over 20 years experience teaching high school Social Studies.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My classroom is student centered class, where I act as a facilitator who promotes critical thinking among students and developing a learning model that allows for maximum retention of knowledge. My students are encouraged to participate during instruction with questions and share thought processes related to the content. Cooperative group learning is a popular method used in my classroom. Students are encouraged to participate in small group discussions on a daily basis. This allows me act as a guide which steers students toward mastering and understanding of the content or skill within the content area. They are encouraged to explore diverse interpretations of the historical process in order to strengthen and deepen their knowledge.
