TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught for over a decade now, both in middle and high school. I have spent the last eight years at a very large and incredibly diverse high school in the state of North Carolina. I have also taught in Indiana, Georgia, and Florida. I also teach ESL online to students overseas.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a very self-discipline focused teacher. I truly believe that students can and will learn if they are given the opportunity and some freedoms along the way in how and what they learn. There is so much history that is left out of the textbooks and I believe that it is important to include some of that untold history. Engage the students by refusing to "herofy" if you will, characters in history. Instead of putting the commonly known historical figures on pedestals, include the common men, women, and children that built the world as we knew and know it to be.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Teacher of the Year nominee Voted Favorite teacher by students two years in a row

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from the University of West Georgia in Carrollton, GA having majored in History with a minor in Secondary Education.
