What is an Annotated Bibliography and Why Do We Use One?

Sometimes we give students an assignment without an explicit explanation and that can impact their success. This straightforward, 1-page handout explains what an annotated bibliography is and why they are used. They also do not understand the difference between an annotated bibliography and a works cited page.
