Toons E Word Families Color and Write

This 15 page coloring activity book provides the opportunity for young children to read, color and write while reinforcing their knowledge of decoding onsets and rimes in context. The anchor pictures and words/sentences are part of the Toons and Tunes materials developed by Cherry Carl and illustrated by Ron Leishman, another TPT seller and creator of Toon Clipart and Toonaday.

Children read and trace over the sentences with their pencils and copy the sentence in the space provided below. The final touch is for them to neatly color the pictures, preferably with sharpened colored pencils. It's also important to encourage the children to use their best printing skills so they can take pride in sharing them with family and friends.

The Color and Write booklet becomes familiar text as the children revisit the completed pages and read them independently and fluently. Look for the other Color and Write booklets (a, i, o, and u).
