Timeline of Life Research Project

Whether students are studying the Timeline of Life, dinosaurs, fossils, or ancient animals in general, this is a great project for them to practice their research skills.

The student is to choose an ancient animal from their studies that they are interested in learning more about. This could be a creature from as early as the Cambrian Period such as the trilobite or from as late as the Tertiary Period such as the mastodon.Once they have chosen their animal, they will use the Timeline of Life Fact Sheet to fill in the needed information which they will later use to arrange their research in to three organized paragraphs. To check themselves, there is also a rubric attached so they can be sure they've included all of the necessary information.

The last part of the project is for the students to make a visual to go along with their report to show to the class as they present their findings. Some ideas are listed for them.
