Description

Share this interactive Google Slides presentation with students so they can dig deeper into the history of the Roanoke Colonies and the mystery of the "Lost Colony" from home or in the classroom. Students will:

  • read the story of the 1585 and 1587 English attempts to colonize Roanoke Island (what is now North Carolina)
  • observe and analyze maps, illustrations, and primary sources
  • respond to 7 discussion questions

Assign these slides via Google Classroom and "Make a copy for each student" so they can edit to type their response to each discussion question. Or, use this as an in-person, whole group lesson.
