The Big 21: Teaching and Learning the basic Multiplicationm Facts

This is a scripted lesson (30-45 minutes) with student participation to be used as a way to break down and teach the basic 0-10 multiplication facts. Follow the script to show (and involve) students strategies and common sense math that will help them work through the sometimes difficult task of learning these 110 facts. The math strategies and common sense skills will help the students narrow those 110 down to a much more manageable number of just 21 facts, that is called "The Big 21".

This lesson might be used as a beginning of year review, a back from break review, a new lesson for those just beginning to learn facts, or as an anytime refresher.
