Settling the Colonies: 1600s-1700s

This set of 100+ usable pages, helps you engage students in the study of the United States colonies. The 20 comprehension passages focus students understanding of America's history by using text-based questioning. The various interactive notebook pieces, a colony creation project for whole-class or small-group engagement, comparison opportunities, and even an opinion writing piece with support pages for differentiation will bring deeper learning to these complex concepts at a kid-friendly level.

This set is vital for any teacher trying to use their valuable time more efficiently.

The New World was a place of hope. People flocked from all over to seek economical opportunities, freedom of religious worship, and political freedom. It was a brilliant and dark time. The settling of the colonies was the beginning of uprisings and wars with the Native Americans. Entitlement drove both sides. The colonial times were intriguing but not everyone survived.

⭐"We need to learn from history, or we are doomed to repeat it." ⭐

How to Use:

All you have to do is pick your standard, print the pages you need for it, and add it to your own lesson plan! This set will save you HOURS of work (I know because this set took me over 150hours to create;). It is also more relevant than most textbooks for social studies. How do I know? I used to teach these standards from a textbook ... hence my creating these units. What makes this set even better is that you can use it in your reading block and apply reading standards!
