I use this true and exciting personal narrative as a mentor text for students, modeling a small moment from my own life. You can use this piece to model figurative language, dialogue, transition words, sensory details, and other components of a strong personal narrative. In this text, I recount the terrifying experience of uncovering a bees' nest during a childhood game of Ghost in the Graveyard.
