    Description

*Save 30% off individual listings!* This bundle includes SIX sample writing pieces in the genres of opinion/argumentative, personal narrative, and informational (report) writing.

Students will learn the components of personal narrative texts as they read three memoirs from the author's own life: "The Bike Horn That Wasn't," "Bees in the Graveyard," and "Big Mike."

When you dive into opinion writing, "Zoos: Not a Good Place for Elephants" and "The Iditarod: A Race Worth Continuing" will capture students' attention and teach them the components of a solid persuasive piece.

Finally, teach students components of informational/report writing with an Animal Report on Polar Bears - complete with nonfiction text features.

The products in this bundle include not only the sample writing pieces, but also checklists with important components of personal narrative and opinion writing. They lend themselves well to discussions about what will make a strong writing piece, and students can use the checklists for their own writing.
