Description

I wrote this memoir as an exemplar for my writer's workshop. My goal in writing this personal narrative was not only to introduce the components of memoir writing (such as dialogue, transition words, and descriptive language), but also to share this profound encounter with my students. I will never forget meeting Big Mike and his son as long as I live; I hope this story touches you and your students as much as it did me.
