In this assignment, students practice rhetorical analysis skills to analyze and respond to Susan B. Anthony's speech. Students examine the text's rhetorical situation for key components like speaker, audience, and exigence. Then, they identify and analyze rhetorical techniques that support her argument. Lastly, they engage in a written response (either a rhetorical precis or a question 2 prompt). This assignment is meant to develop their rhetorical analysis skills in order to craft a successful question 2 response on the AP Language exam.

I suggest allowing students to type into their own copy of this document.
