What educators are saying

Great resource for supplementing my social studies curriculum. I actually used it though to make my 2nd grade science curriculum more rigorous by teaching my students about the different climates in different areas.
I thought that this was a great resource to help my students learn their regions. We've come a long way this school year. We started off by not being able to find our own state on a map. Now we have learned most states and most regions. This was a very helpful resource.

Description

This Regions of the United States project is just what you need to help students research the 5 regions, take notes, and publish a report. Students will be engaged as they learn about the 5 regions and create the interactive Regions of the USA Fan. This project works well as an independent project or for group work. Students in groups of 5 can each study one region and collaborate to create the finished product.

This Regions project includes:

  • graphic organizers for taking notes
  • a list of recommended resources for teachers
  • editing checklist for students
  • complete answer keys
  • assessment - students label the region based on the outline

Process:

Students use the provided note-taking sheets to research each region. They label the states in each region, and research climate and important geographical features. Then, they transfer the notes onto the fans. The report pages (in the fan format) match the note-taking worksheets exactly, making the publishing process simple. This project gives students the opportunity to research, note-take, label maps, publish, cut and color. When done, students have a resource that can be used again and again!

This project is ideal for:

  • practicing note-taking
  • introducing research
  • for center work
  • fast finishers
  • independent projects
  • group work
  • as a supplement to your social studies unit on the USA

See what teachers are saying!

❤️ "This was an amazing resource and extremely well developed. I used it while my class was remote and it worked perfectly. Some had the printed versions and several used Easel. Both worked fabulously. Thank you!! Highly recommend!" Mrs. Mooney Makes

❤️ "I love this resource and so did my students. It allowed us to dive deep into the regions and allowed them to create something that will help them remember the regions. I hung these up in my room after we finished studying the regions because they were all just so cute." Morgan G.

❤️ "My students enjoyed this resource. I even had a couple of parents comment on how fun it seemed compared to a standard worksheet type resource." Amanda M.
