    Description

Looking for ways to engage your students as you teach about the states and regions of the United States? These bundled USA-themed products are the ideal extensions to your United States geography unit! Students are engaged as they research the regions of the USA, as well as each individual state, and create the interactive projects. Great for group work, writing centers, and to enhance your social studies units, these no-prep projects are packed full of content.

Teachers often like to start by assigning the Regions project in groups, with each student researching one region and the group collaborating to create the fan. Later, students are ready to take-off and research the state of their choice using the State Report project!

    The Regions project includes:

    • Directions for the teacher
    • Recommended resources (both print and digital) to get you started
    • Graphic organizers for taking notes
    • Fan project templates for the 5 regions, Hawaii, and Alaska
    • Editing checklist for students
    • Assessment - students label the region based on the outline
    • Complete answer keys

    The State Report project includes:

    • Directions for the teacher
    • Recommended resources (both print and digital) to get you started
    • Graphic organizers for taking notes
    • Fan project templates for all 50 states
    • Maps of the USA so students can locate each state within the country
    • Complete answer keys

    Process:

Students use the provided note-taking sheets as they research. Then, they transfer the notes onto the fans. The report pages (in the fan format) match the note-taking worksheets exactly, making the publishing process simple. This project gives students the opportunity to research, note-take, label maps, publish, cut and color. When done, students have a resource that can be used again and again!

    These projects are ideal for:

    • practicing note-taking
    • introducing research
    • for center work
    • fast finishers
    • independent projects
    • group work
    • as a supplement to your social studies unit on the USA

❤️ "This bundle was SOOOOO engaging to the students. It was hard to get them to transition to another subject. They wanted to keep going. THAT'S engagement!" Lorna L.

❤️ "Such a fun twist on the boring, old state report that all the 5th graders dread! ... This is very fun, a little artsy craftsy, and makes it easy to organize all of the state information. A fun project that students and their parents enjoy. Love that it includes all 50 states. Great deal! Definitely my new state report format!" Christina J.
