Description

Do you want an engaging summative assessment for your geometry unit?  This project has your students designing a space using only quadrilaterals. They must use each of the following quadrilaterals: parallelogram, rectangle, square, rhombus, and trapezoid. Once they create the design, they have to make a key for it, consisting of each shape and its properties, along with symbols and labels for each of the parts of their design that would be categorized with each shape.

**Digital version in Google Slides now included for distance learning** - perfect for an at-home creative project for your geometry unit.

This resource is also included in a geometry bundle.

Printable and digital versions are included.

WHAT OTHER TEACHERS ARE SAYING…

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This activity has been so engaging to my students. I love how I can use this during distance learning. My students need activities that hold their attention. This has been such a help. Thank you!  - Research Based Teaching Tools

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My students absolutely loved this. We used at  the end of the unit as a way to showcase their learning. They worked on it after their "must dos" each day for a week. It really motivated them to work hard on the assigned work of the day and they were so excited to show them off.  - Megan D.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I used this with an extension math group for 4th grade.  My students loved the getting to choose what they designed and show their creativity with how they used the shapes.  I also plan on having them share their places with their classmates and tell how they decided where to include each shape in their designs.    - Rachel D.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What a fun activity to wrap up a geometry unit. Students loved the freedom to design whatever kind of space they like and I love to see the creativity that comes from activities like this.  - Sarah R.
