The flipbook is provided in both landscape and portrait orientation and is sized to fit composition notebooks. It has five tabbed pages, each of which addresses a separate topic. The topics are: the definition of matter, physical properties of matter (both extensive and intensive), chemical properties of matter, physical change and chemical change.

Use it:

• As a note-taking guide for your lecture. (The teacher key makes a great framework on which to build your own lecture).

• As bell work. Students complete a page a day at the beginning of class.

• As a summarization activity. Students complete one page at the end of class.

• As a study guide to complete at the end of a unit in preparation for the unit test.

• As a substitute teacher activity.

• As a student product to accompany independent reading or online research. (Great for homeschool use.)

Customize it:

• There’s plenty of room on the back side of the pages for additional notes.

• Mix and match the four optional pages (provided in the file) to create additional review or more in-depth exploration of a topic – keeping all of it organized in this booklet.

• Add foldables (included) or paper models from other sources or create your own to add to the booklet.

• Use the optional pages separately from the flipbook as homework. Then have students glue the optional page inside their flipbook.

Click on the “preview” button to see the pages provided so that you can make an informed purchase decision.

If you'd like a larger format or more space for student notes, take a look at my Properties Of Matter Guided Graphic Notes.

Before you begin your matter unit, use this Preassessment and Reflection resource.
