Printable Sensory Processing Disorder Handout with Activities and Strategies

This handout pack is a useful and easy-to-learn toolkit that provides a basic understanding of the sensory system through a pediatric lens and various sensory processing disorders. Additionally, this handout pack contains separate sheets for each subcategory SPD with activities and strategies. This pack is beneficial to early-age educators/caregivers, teachers, school-based OTs and SLP, daycare employees, classroom staff, and many more!

This pack contains the following information:

• how to address potential sensory issues with a child in your classroom
• sample letter to request OT /special education services
• introduction to the Sensory System
• introduction to sensory process disorders (SPD)
• diagram of the relationship and categorizing of each subtype of SPD
• individual handout for six (6) different SPD subcategories (i.e. sensory seeking, over-responsive, under-responsive, sensory discrimination, postural disorder, and dyspraxia)
• behaviors and components to help identify each sensory disorder
• specific activities and strategies for each subcategory
